It began as a thatched house built in 1769 by Seongsu, an 11th-generation descendant of Bak Paengnyeon of the Sayuksin. In 1826, his son Gwangseok built the anchae and sarangchae on the site of the thatched house. In front of the detached annex Hayeopjeong is a rectangular pond with a round island in the middle and a single-log bridge, and lotus flowers bloom there in summer. Residents still live in the house, so take care when visiting at night, and parking is not available.
