Around 1800, Bak Jong-u, whose pen name was Dogok, used it as a study, and the house took its name from his pen name. It is a building with 4 bays across the front and 1 bay on the side, designated a Tangible Cultural Heritage of Daegu Metropolitan City. A tuegan (an added side bay) was attached later and the daecheong (main hall floor) was widened, giving it a pavilion shape. It is always open, and parking is free.
