In the portrait, Choe Chi-won is drawn like a Taoist immortal. It began at Gyerimsa in Haean-dong in 1755 and was torn down in 1864 under the order to abolish Confucian academies. It was repaired in 1912 at its present site in Do-dong. A memorial rite is held every year on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month. For hours and days off, you must ask the Culture and Tourism Division of Dong-gu Office before visiting.
