Geumyongsa Temple is a bhikkhuni (nuns') temple on the mountain slope behind the Duryu Swimming Pool in Duryu Park, and a branch temple of Donghwasa Temple of the Jogye Order.
It was founded in 1926 on the site where the annex of the Duryu Indoor Swimming Pool now stands. In 1986 that land was taken for the indoor pool for the National Sports Festival, so the temple was moved to its present site and rebuilt. The 'Geum' in the temple's name comes from the former Geumbongsa Temple, and 'Yong' comes from a feng shui tale in which a phoenix turned into a dragon.
