Bongmujeong Pavilion is a pavilion that a local magnate of the Dalseong area built in 1875 (year 12 of King Gojong) to hold literary gatherings (munhoe).
It was built on the site of the village's thatched-roof office, which was torn down after the four villages of Gangdong, Dokjwa, Winam, and Dansan merged into Bongmu-dong. It is a 5-bay building with a gable roof, with an ondol room of one bay on each side of the central daecheong (lecture hall), named Deokgyojae and Yeyongjae. Nearby is the Bongmujeong and Bongmu Earthen Fortress trail. Along it you can also see the small earthen fortress, 350 m around, and Dokjwaam Rock, where Wang Geon is said to have rested briefly while fleeing after losing the Battle of Gongsan.
