It became a seowon in 1621 (year 13 of King Gwanghaegun) when Ryu Seong-ryong's tablet was enshrined, and I Ho-min was added in 1787 (year 11 of King Jeongjo). When seowon were abolished in 1868 (year 5 of King Gojong), the tablets were moved to Hahoe and the building became a seodang (village school). It burned down in the Korean War (6·25) and was restored in 1991. It is always open, with no admission fee or parking fee.
