Buksanseowon Confucian Academy is a seowon built in 1684 that enshrines Jang Hae-bin, the founding ancestor of the Jeolgang Jang clan, who came to Joseon as a general during the Jeongyu War and settled in Gunwi after naturalizing.
It was torn down in 1868 (year 5 of King Gojong) under the order demolishing seowon and rebuilt in 1959. Two shrine buildings stand side by side next to the lecture hall. You can look around 09:00–18:00, and there are no days off, admission fee, or parking fee.
