Momyeongjae is a memorial lodge built by the Dureung Du clan to honor Du Sa-chung, who came to Joseon as part of the Ming army sent to help during the Imjin War and later became a naturalized subject.
Its name carries the meaning of longing for his homeland, Ming. His descendants moved timber from the Gyeongsan government guesthouse, torn down in 1912, and built the lodge in front of Du Sa-chung's tomb. In 1966, the old building was repaired. It is a hip-and-gable tile-roofed house, four bays across the front and two bays on the side. Viewing is free.
