Kim Won-il's Madang Gipeun Jip is a literature experience hall based on Kim Won-il's novel Madang Gipeun Jip, which is set in Jung-gu, Daegu, after the Korean War (6·25).
It recreates the characters and the lives of refugees, and it was built by remodeling a hanok on the site of the former Namseong-dong Senior Center. The hall has a model of the house from the novel, Gilnam's family's room, the author's room, and scenes and life photos of Daegu from the 50s. The yard and alley have a water tap and photo zones. The place is not the actual location in the novel. Admission is free, and it is closed on Mondays.
