Daebong Reservoir is one of the first waterworks facilities built in Daegu: Reservoir No. 1 was built in 1918 and Reservoir No. 2 was added in 1925, and it was designated a National Registered Cultural Heritage on June 19, 2006.
Reservoir No. 1, a cylindrical reinforced-concrete structure 24 m in diameter, has 11 round windows set at equal intervals in its wall. A plaque reading 'Ilseoksin' hangs on the domed building in the center. It stands inside the Daegu Waterworks Headquarters at the foot of Mt. Sudo and is always open.
