How to get to Yeyeonseowon Confucian Academy
In 1677, it received the name 'Yeyeon' and became a royal-chartered academy (sao seowon). After it closed under the 1868 order to abolish seowon, everything was burned during the Korean War. It was restored in 1977 and 1984. It now also enshrines the tablet of Gwakjun, Gwak Jaeu's second-cousin uncle (jaejongsuk). Rites are held every March and September. It is always open, and admission and parking are free.
