Its name, which uses the characters for 'hide' (eun) and 'trace' (jeok), comes from the cave where Taejo Wang Geon of Goryeo hid for 3 days to escape Gyeonhwon's army. That cave, Wanggeon Cave (Eunjeok Cave), still remains in the bamboo grove to the right of the main hall. The Shakyamuni Buddha in the main hall shows the Buddha-statue style of the early 18th century and was designated Tangible Cultural Heritage (Daegu Metropolitan City No. 72) in 2015.
