Bonggangseowon Confucian Academy is a seowon built in 1861 that enshrines Mun Ik-jeom, the Goryeo civil official who introduced cotton, Mun Rae, who made the spinning wheel, Mun Yeong, who devised the weaving method, and others.
In 1960, descendants rebuilt Gyeonghyeonsa Shrine, the Sammun gate, the lecture hall, Sanguimun, and the monument pavilion for Chungseon-gong's former site, among others, on the present academy site. The memorial rite is held every year on the jungjeong day (middle jeong day) of the 3rd lunar month. You can look around free of charge 09:00–18:00, and parking is also free.
