According to a legend, the temple was moved and rebuilt on the spot where a wooden duck landed, and this is where its name comes from. A hanging Buddhist painting was stolen in 1988, and portraits of Seon masters are now mounted and kept in glass frames. It is always open, has no admission fee, and parking is free.
